Welcome to PCQA!

Welcome to the NEW web-site for the Patient-Centered Quality Alliance network! This web-site is all about patients, patient advocates and their families -- their health and medical needs, expertise and preferences.

PCQA plans to chronicle patient-reported  successes as well as case studies of how patient’s successfully challenge today’s health care maze.  We will share patient stories of the trauma and roadblocks they routinely encounter -- too numerous in number to reach the newspapers much less the headlines.

The health system and our leaders are failing patients.  The patient’s voice is often ignored at every turn by policymakers, insurers, employers – and these days especially government health officials.  Patients and their advocates struggle against tremendous odds to draw attention to their special differences and need for care that works for them as individuals and that is state-of-the-art.  The stakes are increasingly high for these patients, while we are on the cusp of genomic interventions that can assure personalized, high quality care and outcomes.

The PCQA network already includes close to 250 patient advocacy organizations.  The network has joined together to stem the tide of health care rationing being institutionalized across the land in State legislation as well as in the halls of Congress, with the added stick bureaucratic government health agencies.  These health care leaders let patients down when they craft programs labeled to make patients believe the broken health system is being fixed for them.  The fact is many of these programs have the opposite effect – instead endangering patient’s well being and their very lives.

Join  the patient advocate movement!! Learn why cost cutting, value purchasing and quality improvement “labels” simply mean “one-size fits all” measures that corrupt patient access to the best health and medical care, limit choice, endanger lives and the future productivity of our diverse society.  These well-intentioned approaches are for the most part now predominantly “code” for  what are very aggressive assaults on the quality of patient health care.  Dramatic expansions of “rationed care” loom on the horizon.  Get involved today and have a say!
